Darwin, Palmerston and Darwin rural areas have entered lockdown from 1pm, Sunday 27 June.
While public transport is still operational in the lockdown area during this period, passengers and drivers have Chief Health Officer (CHO) directions that must be followed.
CHO directions stipulate that face masks must be worn at all times when not in your place of residence.
For the purpose of eliminating any doubt, this means all passengers and the drivers of vehicles being used for professional purposes, including taxi and ride-sharing vehicles, must wear a mask at all times.
CHO directions are enforceable by law and heavy penalties apply for non-compliance.
